With over two and a half decades of experience in the electronic dance music (EDM) industry, Nolan Evans—known by his stage names DJ Positive Friction and Shamash Live—has established himself as a renowned producer, DJ, and live performance artist.

Nolan’s musical journey began with early piano lessons and continued as a drummer in his teenage years. His rapid mastery of DJing and turntablism led to his emergence as a prominent figure in the local rave scene, where he became widely recognized as DJ Positive Friction.

Throughout his career, Nolan has shared the stage with numerous celebrated artists and DJs, such as Darude, and has organized events for Musik Freak Records, even bringing prominent acts like Planet of the Drums to Idaho.

In 2011, Nolan decided to temporarily step away from DJing to concentrate on honing his music theory and production skills. By 2018, he began creating his own tracks, drawing inspiration from esteemed labels like Bedrock and Faded.

As of 2022, Nolan is preparing for his debut release on Compatible Records, collaborating closely with label owner Sebastian Markiewicz. His musical creations showcase progressive rhythms, rich soundscapes, and captivating arp leads. Committed to pushing the limits of progressive house, Nolan will continue crafting infectious dance tracks and contributing to the evolution of the genre.
