Already anchored in the chronicles of Compatible Music, label stalwarts Confute and R.E.C. join forces for a remarkable Extended Player.
The Irish duo deliver a brace of epic originals, namely ‘Low Roller’ and ‘Last Chapter’, which comes with both vocal and dub mixes. Label head and Bedrock Records music maker Sebastian Markiewicz takes care of remix duties.
Headline track, ‘Low Roller’ is aptly titled, a true powerhouse of techno dictated, bossed and preponderated by an irrestistably hooky bassline calling the shots from the get-go.
A beauteous bed of explorational textures are duly noted, adding a delicious warmth to the soundscape while the key percussive and low frequency elements address the requirements of the dancefloor.
Markiewicz goes heavy, lo-slung and lumbering with a sublime re-interpretation awash with percussive energy and groove.
‘Last Chapter’ is characterised by gorgeous melodics. Pads and big synth lines add an epic and emotive dimension to proceedings, although focus on the dancefloor is never forgone.
Both vocal and dub mixes share key properties. Defining disparities come via a vocal fx infusion adding yet more groove to an already highly danceable soundscape.
