Label favourite ‘Confute’ revisits Compatible Music once more before the year’s close, seeing in the festive period with a gift-wrapped EP entitled “We Pray”.
An artist with genre flirting in his nature and bursting with eclectic diversity, CMP012 is further evidence of a unique talent which draws upon a myriad of influence.
The musical ball is set in motion with opening gambit “Renege”, a slick yet barbarous assault upon techno dancefloors worldwide. Heavy percussion and uncompromising subs rattle and brutalise the frequency spectrum in a manner few artists can muster.
Title track “We Pray” supersedes, continuing a theme of disconcertingly dark techno, full of atmosphere and melodics. The originals reach their conclusion in the shape of ‘Luke Warm’, an equally effective track with a more melodic, progressive undertone.
If that wasn’t enough, label head Sebastian Markiewicz tips a hat to “We Pray” with an interpretation of his own. Typically dense, full bodied and trippy in complexion, the remix adds an absorbing and stimulating alternative to Confute’s original.
With Christmas around the corner, it’s only right that yet another remix sits under the CMP012 tree, with Adwer’s rework completing a package already brimming with class.
Having enjoyed his debut release on Compatible Music via the label’s eleventh outing, Adwer’s homecoming does not disappoint thanks to a stellar slab of ethereal techno at it’s absolute finest.
We hope you enjoy.
