Never one to rest on it’s laurels, Compatible Music supervenes it’s recent flurry of activity with a further sonic assault on it’s discography. CMP010 witnesses label head-honcho Sebastian Markiewicz unite with Ibiza native, Bravofox, for the ‘Night Gamer EP.
The journey commences with ‘Game Day’, a low-slung slice of deep, melodic techno exhibiting the strengths of both playmates. Distinctively heavy and chugging percussion seen in the work of Markiewicz is complimented perfectly by the infectious grooves heard throughout the Bravofox archive. Subtle electronic vocal chants in a Tuvan style juxtapose the deep foundations in a brilliantly melded fashion.
Worthy of it’s title, ‘Game Over’ adopts a more sinister approach, flirting with unearthly, haunting grooves and savagely unsettling synths. The track is awash with intrigue and is relentless in it’s ability to twist and turn, a rollercoaster track that is destined for widespread appeal around peak time dancefloors.
‘Night Gamer’ completes the package. A gnarling analog bassline leads the way here, with an expertly braided array of fx and rhythmic trills flicker and entwine the remainder of the soundscape. There is little let up of energy as the track forges to it’s conclusion, completing an admirably diverse yet consistently peak-time EP.
We hope you enjoy.
