The story of an artist ‘Confute’ sees a new chapter in 2015 with a return to Compatible Music. Having donned the remix hat at the close of last year with a deep and powerful rework of Sebastian Markiewicz’s ‘Receiver’, the Irishman lays down an EP of his own, while Markiewicz returns the favor on remix duties.
Opening track ‘Follow Up’ is dripping with groove and analog warmth, foundations upon which a series of trippy melodies and intricate, shimmering interludes are born. Relentless in its ability to grow and evolve, the track develops into a full blown late-night techno groover while retaining it’s emotive underbelly.
’89’ shares a similar vision, built from a bedrock of low-slung grooves and solid drum work. The track takes a darker, spasmodic twist at it’s core, before relaunching it’s assault on the dancefloor to close out another stellar original.
Remixing ‘Follow Up’, label head Sebastian Markiewicz is no stranger to powerful grooves and wastes little time in finding the foothold on the dancefloor here. Owing largely to sub-rattling groundwork allowing the dubbier synth elements to shine, the track is a percussive slice of rolling techno littered with depth and substance.
We hope you enjoy.
