Sebastian Markiewicz released his new track “Next In” on his label Compatible Music in July of 2013, with a remix from Bedrock artists Two Hand Salute. Compatible Music was founded by Markiewicz as a platform for releasing his own music, and has already gained support from artists such as Catz’ N Dogz, Markus Homm, Halo, Audiofly, and Moodymanc.
The original mix of “Next In” is a raw and gritty house track with bubbling percussion, rounded subby tones, and fluttering vocal chops as its driving force. Markiewicz has a talent for creating ever-evolving, dubbed out cuts, and this is demonstrated in the eight and a half minute “Next In.”
On the B-side, Two Hand Salute’s mix takes on a stripped down and sparse format, with punchy digital drums, swirling reverberated atmospherics, and tension-building string melodies. The mix maintains the same dark aesthetic as the original, but with an understated and intelligent approach that creates an intriguing contrast.
